ILR - Spouse visa - time out of UK

Post by baswitzer » Sat Jan 02, 2010 8:13 pm

I have spent about 5 months out of the UK (mainly due to family emergency). My sponsor travelled with me for this time. The rules do not state that you have to have been in the UK the whole time and we can show we are still together and have been so in the UK for all the time. I know there is a discretion but does anyone know if there are hard and fast rules about time out of the UK for ILR (as opposed to citizenship).

Thanks Vinny. The short answer is no for ILR (yes for citizenship).
