question regarding supplementary work for tier 2

Does the supplementary work have to be from the same employer? I am working as a university researcher in a project and the supplementary work was part of that research project for a company who is a member of that project anyway.

Am I in breach of the immigration laws?

You're allowed to work up to 20 hours a week for any other employer providing that the work is of the same type and level that your Tier 2 Visa is granted for.

You should be fine
