MARRIAGE OF UNITED STATES CITIZENS ABROAD wrote:Validity of Marriages Abroad

In general, marriages which are legally performed and valid abroad are also legally valid in the United States. Inquiries regarding the validity of a marriage abroad should be directed to the attorney general of the state in the United States where the parties to the marriage live.

ask ur gf to get a special category marriage visa, as a entry free citizen to UK for 90 days without visa doesn't mean that she can work and live on long term bases. don't get urselves in touble. or contact a solicitor.

Not necessarily. If I remember correctly, no permission is needed for a CoE marriage.

If it's a marriage regarding a foreign national then yes they do need a visa, and the UK Border Agency are getting vry strict about it as well. The registrar of the marriage will ask to see the visa.
