EEA-2 URGENT HELP

I made an application in july 2008 and received a coa in september 2008. Requested for my passport to travel in february 2009. Applied for new family permit in march 2009 but was issued in june 2009. Came back to the uk in october and in december had a letter requesting for my passport. Posted it on the 10th of december. Anybody in this situation and how long is the waiting time. Need to travel on the 28th of this month. Can i request back my passport and wil it expedise my application
