10 y Long residency as a Tier 4 migrant

I heard from different sources (never find it in home office web site) that the Tier 4 or let me say Students arenâ€™t able to apply for ILR on the bases of 10 year long term residency. Is it true? Because fortunately or unfortunately I am almost there.

You can apply for IRL under the 10 year rule even if you have stayed for the 10 years as student. The 10 years must be a continuous lawful residence. See URL below:

"Earned citizienship" is going to be implememted.

Although, who knows? the conservatives might as well close the 10 year rule when they come into power in May...i wouldn't be suprised
