Hi, I was just going thru the guidance note, could you please tell me what these terms means

1) The family member of a Tier 4 (General) Student where the student does not have an established presence in the United Kingdom

2) A student has an established presence studying in the United Kingdom if:

wht they mean by established presence ?

I am studying here for over 3 years now, and recently got extension under new tier 4 policy in dec 2009...so in which category do I fall .

Established presence. This term is used to determine the level of maintenance fund you need to show when you or your dependant wish to extend your visa. For student, it will be 600 gbp and dependant is 400 gbp for 2 months (outside London). tq
