Applying directly without an Agent

Post by maheshacharya » Tue Aug 23, 2005 2:07 pm

Hi All,
I want to apply for the UK work permit under HSMP.

Just wondering if I can apply directly rather than via an agency. If so what precautions I need to take.

Above all, is this too much of a risk?

Thanks in advance for the comments

a good number of people on this forum applied directly without using any immigration laywer, however if you are not too confident about your skills at putting the application together or you are too busy to go through the stress then go hire one.

Wish you good luck in ur application

Thank you. That's a huge moral boost to me.
This is what I'll be doing in next few days. Please correct me if I have missed any

1. Collect all the necessary documents
2. Get a folder(any suggestions here as to which one is better for easy organising and referencing?)
3. Post it to the HO with the required fees

I am not sure about what should go into the covering letter.

Please let me know if I have missed something or I am wrong
Thank you

yes you are on the right track,

The fist step is to START gathering the documents

once you start, the next steps will come easy

covering letter and folder to use

Post by maheshacharya » Tue Aug 23, 2005 3:20 pm

Would anyone post any sample covering letter and what kind of folder/envelope to use to include the documents?

What should be the contents of the covering letter?
I understand we need to submit the documents in a specified sequence. How do we seperate each set of documents? I read somebody used tabbed folder for the same with different colours. Would you please describe a bit more?

Thank you

Mahesh,

What industry are you in and where are you coming from? Most of us in this forum are in IT related industries.

I am sure you have looked at the HSMP qualifying criteria and are aware of all the requirements of the HSMP Scheme.
