Packing the documents

Post by Ashwin2005 » Thu Aug 25, 2005 12:27 pm

I am planning to pack the application and my original documents in a cardboard box format packed. My documents are in plastic sleaves kept in a carboard binder.

When we get back the documents, how do they pack it. Is it packed well so that they are not damaged in transit?

I heard that HSMP takes photocopy of each document we send. Then is it better to send the Originals + a set of Photocopy so that HSMP team need not have to take out each document and photocopy it?

I received my docs back via courier (DHL), they were inside a buble plastic envelop. There weren't damaged as far as I can see.

lbfrancois,

How did you arrange the pickup? How did you make the payment?

Hi,

I sent HSMP Team the AWB (Air way bill), which is a form where the contents of the package have to be declared and it has to be signed. As HSMP does not sign any documents, I filled it out myself, signed and sent it via DHL to my casework, and asked him to give this form along with my documents to the courier during collection.
I tracked the packed, and when HSMP received it I called DHL in UK and arranged the collection. I paid by international Credit Card (Mastercard).

Packing

Considering the complications involved in arranging Courier pickup, I opted for the Airmail delivery.
Mine is a big binder with lot of documents. Now I am anxiously waiting for the safe arrival of documents.
When they send by Royal Mail, do they pack the documents well?

yodiyokun, did you get your documents by courier or Royal Airmail?
