Anybody applied for PSW between 20th Jan and 31st January 2010.
Please share progress experience.

Applied on 27th with postal order, and no News!

my friend applied on 28th, application received on 29th. (special delivery)

he paid fees by postal order..

no acknowledgment yet

I have made my application by postal order;

Sent my Application on : 15th January 2010 by special Delivery
Supposed to arrive on : 18th January 2010
Received Acknowledgement letter on : 25th January 2010
Achknowledgement letter was dated : 20th January 2010
Current Status : Awaiting

FEE DEDUCTED: 02 FEB 10
ACK RECEIVED: 6 FEB 10, WHICH WAS DATED 03 FEB 10

Payment taken out: 8 February
ACK dated 06 February, received 13 February

No acknowledgment letter received.

This process is so frustrating! Why don't they have an online application like the one I did for my original student visa?!

*EDIT - Letter received on the 13th, still awaiting visa*

According to the Home Office website only applications received until 13Jan are being processed. How did you receive yours so fast ?

Well, I am not sure, but if you look at the waiting time paragraph, it also says the waiting times are for guidelines only...so. But I guess it doesn't matter. May be the case officer was on high or something...lol Oh and by the way mine was a re-application after my original application was returned owing to using an old version of the application form. By the time I re-applied my leave to remain had expired already (on 7/01/10). That could be the reason although I am wondering how that could be possible. Guess its a luck thing cuz had I not been issued the visa, I'd have overstayed beyond the allowed 28 days and thus effectively nullify my chance to appeal or reapply again from back home. cheers

Acknowledgement received: 15 Jan 2010 (dated 12 Jan 2010)
Visa stamped: 04 Feb 2010
Documents and passport received: 10 Feb 2010

PS: I used a combination of my UK accounts and overseas account to show the maintenance funds. I added a covering letter with a table containing details of balance on each day and the total balance, in the last 3 months. It was a smooth sail.

Visa issue date: 10th of February
Received Passport and documents: 12th Feb ( I included a special delivery envelope).

dont be worried too much you should be getting your psw before 18 February. Thats pretty much standard time period. since you applied on 18 January

thanks for the reassurance...the thing is i have to travek and i have'nt been to see my family for 3 years. hopefuly i will hear the decision later this week or next week. fingersx

Still waiting for decision.

The H.O is processing applications sent on or before 21st January 2010 from this week onwards.

I got my visa stamped (19th February 2010 to 19th February 2012) today i.e 23rd February.

Im not sure when the Home Office sent my passport back to me on. I mean the exact date.
