is there outgoing passport control on airports ?

Post by dekabox » Fri Feb 12, 2010 12:11 pm

hi guys,

I want to ask: Are there outgoing (exit) passport controls (I mean passport controls when u are leaving country) on british airports especialy Stansted and Luton ?
Some people on internet are saying that these controls has been scraped years ago and now only in emergency situations passenger are controled. Is it right ?
I am asking this because I am EEA national (EEA passport holder) and this year I am going to apply for naturalization as british citizen and despite travelling much to my home country (Czech rep.) and sometimes for holiday (Spain, Greece, Italy) I have no single stamp in my passport - is completely blank !!!
And this makes wrinkles on my face, because there are limited absences I can be outside of the UK and I have no idea how can I prove for naturalization purposes that I put myself to these limits. Perhpas UKBA has in computer database records of my entries/exits of the UK, because I am really not able to count it - even I dont remember all my trips since 2004.

Thank you for your helpful answer.
Lukas

Hello, I am in a similar situation. I don't have a very good record of my travel and as I mostly travelled within the EU I don't have any stamps. I have some flight tickets but I don't have anything to check the times when I travelled by car. I don't think I exceeded the limit of 90 days within the last 12 months but I am not entirely sure. Is there a database where it gets recorded when we leave and re-enter the UK? I don't want them to accuse me of providing false info in case I forgot about one or two trips. Do they double check what we write in the applications?
