Confused! HSMP Ext! 1 Month Calendar Rule For Maintenance

Post by dnsluz » Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:26 pm

Dear All,

Please help me to understand this 'within one month calendar' rule.

I'm getting really confused!

I read the following response from the Home Office in another thread:

"For further clarification, if you applied on the 29 January 2009 then the largest gap we could allow before the assessment period would be one month and thus we could go back to 29 December for the start of the 3 month assessment period. "

Is that right?!? Does it means go back to 29 December 2009 and count from that date backwards (ie 29 Dec/29 Nov/29Oct)?!?

For example, if I apply tomorrow 22 Feb 2010, the latest date on my bank statement that I could present then is 22 Jan 2010 - (one calendar month ago).

From this rule I understand that I'm allowed to send the bank statements for the following dates:

23 Oct 2009 - 22 Nov 2009
23 Nov 2009 - 22 Dec 2009
23 Dec 2009 - 22 Jan 2010

Going back to 22 Jan 2010 "for the start of the 3 month assessment period. "

Please let me know ASAP if I have misunderstood something!!!

Kind Regards,

Denison
