Section 2 (2.2) residence requirements

UKBA Guide line (Page 16) says
''Insert the numbers you were away from the UK the last column ignoring the day you left and the day you arrived back in the UK''

so if I made a same day trip, it will be zero
If I left on Tue and back on Thursday will be one day absence.
Correct ?

The other way to look at it is, how many days where you not present in the UK?
