Any alternatives for marriage certificate?

Any alternatives for marriage certificate?

Hi...

I am applying for a Tier1 dependent visa for my wife. We are currently in the US and it is impossible for us to get the marriage certificate from India without being physically present there. Is there any other document which can be submitted in lieu of a marriage certificate. (even our passports are not endorsed with spouse name)
