Visit visa stay

One of my friend and his kids stayed here in UK for 4 and 1/2 months (visit visa). He came here to visit his wife who is in Work Permit.

Now the father and kids have gone back home.

My question is, when they made the application they mentioned it is for
3 months stay. But they stayed 1 and 1/2 months more and left before the
visa expired(6 months visa).

Will this affect their future Visit Visa applications?

They were well within their visa validity (six months), so they didn't overstay, and it's no problem at all!
