switching to Tier 1(general before WP expires

Hi,
Thanks in advance, I have the following queries regarding switch from WP to Tier 1(general).

1) my WP expires in july 2012, can i still switch to tier 1(general).
2) I have 2 dependents, do they need to leave the country to get tier 1 dependent visa stamped.

Hi Imthiyaz,
as per my understanding:
1 - You can apply for Tier 1 as soon as you think, you meet the criteria
2 - If your dependants are already in UK, they do not need to leave. You can apply for them at the time of your application with only £50 per dependant.

Ans:yes u can switch whenever u wants.
2) I have 2 dependents, do they need to leave the country to get tier 1 dependent visa stamped.
Ans: they can apply with you if there are in country at the moment.
