Hi Kishorepadman,
What exactly are you looking for in the Java/J2EE Domain coz it is very vast. There are lot of jobs as junior and senior developers across UK with salaries ranging from £24k to £35k. There are also a lot of jobs for Designers, Architects etc in this domain and with proper experience salaries range from £30k to £50k. Testing jobs are also there with salaries ranging from £25k to £50k.
I have a lot of friends in this domain in the UK. You do need to remember that there is a lot of outsourcing in the UK for smaller roles but demand is still there. Unfortunately, with the current market situation, there are too many applicants to fill the roles. So even if I say market is good for Java/J2EE guys what I mean is there are maybe 200 jobs for Java compared to 100 jobs for .Net or C++ BUT you may have 2000 applications for these 200 jobs so the competition is very tough. Plus you now have people ready to work for peanuts just to get a break and start working.
Given all this, your specific exp, quality of work you have done,domain knowledge and what roles you now look for are all important here. Java J2EE jobs are advertised all over the UK so if something comes up, no matter where you live, you will have to travel couple of times to clear an interview. Depending on all of the above, it may take anything between 1 to 3 months to get a job finalized.
