UK - The new visa category of ‘dependent relative’

Folks,

I have come across following news which talks about news visa category called 'Dependent Relative'.

The article implies a new category dependent visa, any word on that?

Read last paragraph of the article.
The new visa category of ‘dependent relative’ will allow the grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles and siblings over the age of 18 to join family members settled in the UK or being admitted for the purpose of settlement.

I've only just started reading about visas, I did not realize that parents, grandparents etc. were a new addition to the dependent via category.
So there is nothing new there. Gotcha!

The difference now is this visa will cost £1600 per person, to put people off and to recoup some of the social costs if the adult survives past the five years maintenance you're supposed to provide.
