Do I need to add spouse name in passport before applying?

Hi,

I'm going to apply for a Tier 1 (G) visa in May from Bangalore with my husband as a dependent. We got married just a few months back. Would it be necessary to add husband/wife name in both our passports before applying?

No, it is not required... your ORIGINAL Marriage certificate and some supportive docs like marriage photos and invitation card should be sufficient;
