Address on Work permit

Post by raikal » Tue Mar 16, 2004 12:24 am

Hi,
The work address is usually mentioned on the work permit.
when we move from one location to other Employer has to mention this to WP. ( they call it as technical changes ). What I notices was, almost 50 % of the WP holders work in a different place.

Does this matter or has anyone come across any complications of these ?

Thanks

The employer must notify Work Permits UK when an employee changes the address at which they will be working. Of course if you are merely moving short term (IMHO < 3mths) between sites say for project purposes/ on secondment then this is not necessary. The notification must be accompanied with a copy of your WP LTR stamp but NOT your passport. Notification in such cases enables the Work Permits UK conduct their post issue (quality control) checks. If they can't find your company/ you it just causes grief for the employer in future WP applications and may result in an indepth investigation into historic grants of WP's including yours.
