Hi all
My husband will be applying for his spouse visa shortly. He is Egyptian, and has completed national service a couple of years ago.he has a copy of his 'discharge' paper, which is in the process of being translated, but our problem is, the ORIGINAL paper is held by his employer, and apparently it is common practise in Egypt, that the employer will only give the original back, when he leaves his job.
obviously he doesn't want to hand in his notice until a visa is granted, so my question is, will the ECO accept the translated copy?
everything else for the application is pretty tight, so we don't want to risk losing the fee,by being rejected on this 1 point
any ideas folks?

Normally teh applicant is not under any obligation to provide such documents as evidennce for his application

The ECO is more interested in what YOU the sponsor provides

In this case he can if he wants to provide a copy and certified version of teh document. It should make no difference to his application.
