Do not have P60's while being on WP with Indian company,Help

Post by pubmania » Wed Apr 21, 2010 4:15 pm

Hello,

I have been in UK for last 5 years, since July 2005.
I was on workpermit through an Indian company until 2007.
I was paid an allowance here in UK and a salary back in India.
I have never been given a P60 while being on a work permit and
all my taxes were paid in India. However I have the electronic payslips
of my UK allowance and India's form 16 for taxes.
I then got HSMP in December 2007 and joined a new job with a Uk
employer and I have a P60 for the tax year 2008and 2009 and will be getting one P60 for tax year 2009 -2010 in May.

I wanted to know how will I be showing the evidence of my economic activity
for the last 5 years, while I was on Work permit without P60's.
Any help on this, will be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance!!!

If you get allowance in UK, your employer have to pay tax and NI. Contact your HR to obtain your P60. My case was similar to you, I could managed to get my P60. But I didn't use it when I apply my ILR. Is the WP holder require to show P60? I thought that it is only for HSMP. It wasn't the case when I applied last year in march.

My employer was a work permit sponsoring company based in UK ( Indian shadow IT company whose only work is to do work permit and take comission out of your earnings a flat 20% and then they deduct more saying tax and NI, but I have letter from HMRC this company has not paid any Tax and NI. so this company I had spoken to many times before he says financial year end is over and so P60 can not be issued I was told by my friends that paying taxes and NI is responsibility of employer I can prove by bank statement that I was getting paid by this employer.

and what about the first year of myexistence when employer is showing P6 income only for £764.00.
SO these are two issues for me.

I got my HSMP in Jan 2008 and since then I had my own company and I had been paying NI and taxes properly and I have clean record since then.
