there is no point allienating those (ie irish people) who support them by coming out with anything else. know when to pick your fights. it would be possibly only through residents and citizens who express outrage and protest before government are forced on a u turn, in this economy, mrc need all the support and good will they can get in order to help migrants. we don't know what they are discussing with the govenment behind the scenes, so a hostile attitude on camera may not be helpful. moreover, if they were hostile, they would only play into anti immigration bodies hands. that is not helpful for migrants
you can't give work permits/green cards to jobs that are not already there. nay country in europe would give availability of jobs to their own and other eu citizens first! With regard to new permits/green cards, i am sure this country can find plenty of chefs here and throughout europe.
a person is on notice and has always being on notice that the permit/green card, even in the good time, ends on the cessation of employment at a particular firm. if they wanted to leave and go elsewhere, they should apply for a new permit. they knew the risks
however, by the second year, they should have got a bit more freedom, and not let what happened to Mr Singh from Longford occur again. that was bad, very bad.
though, i must say, for those people who have renewed their permits, and those who have been on permits for some time, their should be serious changes or better assistance if they loose their jobs but can get another one and that job is in the same sector as the old one. i also believe, strictly in relation to those who are already in possession of a work permit/green card should at least not be limited to access for work on basis of name of employer but at least.
the man was refused citizenship on basis of rta, this should not effect him getting a stamp 4 (LTR). hope all works out for him. fair play to him for completely changing his career, that was no mean feat, some risk. if he becomes self employed, he can forget about getting a business permit without a large wallet. people like him have Irish Citizen children
