About 4 months HSMP validity left - can I invite my parents?

(Moderators - if you feel it is correct to have this post on this forum, I am happy to move it around, just point the right location to me please. )

My HSMP expires mid august this year. I will be applying for a renewal mid-May. A little tied up these days so cant do it right away. My parents are visiting Canada and en-route I want them to stop over in London and spend a couple of weeks with me in July.

My question is given my visa is only valid till the next 4 months, can I send them an invitation letter and are they likely to get a visa?

AS LONG AS they meet fund , insurance, accomodation requirements there should not be any issue
