Entry clearance for wife

Post by hongkongpheuy12 » Mon Apr 26, 2010 4:11 pm

Hi all.
I am a uk citizen and currently living in Japan on a cultural visa. We and my Japanese girlfriend are going through the paper work to get married. I am 24 she is 30.

We are planning on settling in the UK, however I have a concern regarding the Entry Clearance. I am applying for my notification of marriage and we plan on getting married in May. We will be heading to England in October.

As I have been living in Japan, I do not have a job in the UK. Also, when we return we will be planning on living with my parents (3 bed room house, only parents living there at the moment). We are able to live there rent free whilst I find a job and our own accommodation etc.

My savings are quite minimal (around 3000).

I was wondering what kind of paper work my parents will need to send me as proof that we can live with them. They own their house and do not claim benefits, although they are semi retired. Will the paperwork need to go through a lawyer etc?

If you also have any other advice, it would be most appreciated.

You will need a letter of consent from your parents stating that they are happy to let you and your spouse say with them rent free untill such time you can afford or rent your own place.

They will need to send copies of teh title deeds to confirm they are owners of it. If there is mortgage on property , you will need details of upto date payments and balance outstanding and that allmonthly payments are upto date.

This should suffice for you..
