What is procedure when non-EU spouse arrives in Ireland?

Post by RathJohn » Mon Apr 26, 2010 11:02 pm

Hi All,

My non-EU wife recently was granted a D visa single entry Spouse of an Irish National visa. I was worried she wouldn't get the visa, because I am unemployed. But the embassy abroad requested me to supply a letter from Social welfare saying I was in receipt of Jobseekers allowance. They obviously deemed this sufficent financial support. But anyway my questions relate to when she arrives here in a few weeks.

She is travelling alone to Dublin, will immigration give her a hard time without me there?

What is the procedure for registering her here with GNIB? And will my unemployment cause trouble then?

Thanks
J.......
