HSMP Extension

Hello everybody,

I came to Uk about 7 months back on hsmp from india with my wife.I am having a permanent job from last 6 months & my wife is having a permanent job from last 4 months.

The validity of my visa is upto 12 jan.I am having few question It would be great if someone in the forum can help me.

1)I want to go to india in christmas holidays .when should I apply for the extension so that I can get my passport back within time as I have to book the ticket also.Can I write in cover letter to speed up the process so that I can get my passport and I can book my tickets?
2)How much fund is required in our bank a/c?

your help will be highly appriciated.

when do you want to leave for the holidays? there's enough time if you send your application in 12 nov (2 months before expiry)

My brother got HSMP last week and before then that he was working for a company on a student visa. My question is

Can he face any trouble at the time of extension as he was working more than 20 hours on student visa

The 20 hours per week restriction applies only during term-time. So outside term-time there is no restriction in the hours that can be worked by the holder of a student visa.

Do you still think he might have a problem?

My brother was working full time (40 hrs )as a developer on a student visa and now he has got HSMP. My question is at the time of extension can he face any trouble because he will keep his existing job for the time being or may be for a long time.

Now, because his contract letter has a starting date of 2years back, while he just got HSMP, so would it be an issue.

did he actually start working 2 yrs back and simultaneously doing some course in a university ?

Yes, he did start work on a student visa.

Is there any rule defined somewhere that your previous work history could be checked...

Or have you guys come across to any person with similar situation
