How early do I enter UK after getting Visa

Hi I am in US. I got my Tier Visa approved for 3 years starting this May 2010. Is there a time limit by when I should enter UK or can I take my own time. I heard something like I should not be out of UK for more than 3 months while on HSMP, or else this would cause issue while applying for extension or PR?

You can enter anytime before expiry of your visa, but entring early is safer than entring late.

If you enter late, it will delay your PR. But there would be no problem with extension, if you secure necessay points.

yeah thats well said mvent. so its better to be safe than sorry..

so make sure you enter in the first one month from the date of your visa approval.
