Additional info re. self employed status for naturalisation

Post by ikoonman » Wed May 19, 2010 6:23 pm

Hi

We've received our letters from the DOJ requesting additional information (P21, bank statements, salary slips) for our naturalisation applications and I am curious about one thing.

I have a Irish-registered limited company where I am a director but also employed by the same company. Am i "self-employed" or an employee? Do i just submit my salary slips (as they request for an ordinary employed person) or do i need to supply the additional information as specified for a self-employed individual: tax clearance certificate etc.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi ikoonman, when did you apply for naturalization?

I though they ask for some type tax clearance certificate from everybody? PAYE workers should submit P21, Individually Taxed (you as a director should be IT) should submit TCC. There is no difference in principle AFAIK. Salary slips are not the proof of taxes paid.

Pick one ;) It is my guess that you need to supply documents for "self-employed" case. You will not get P21 in any case, unless Revenue makes a mistake.
