Pls can anyone advise on what the Home Office means by 'application not completed''?

I was rang the helpline today for an update on my application for extension of discretionary leave to remain and was told the above.

I've been waiting since Jan 2010????

any experiences pls

It means that they are still more enquiries to be made, which will ultimately take some time before they are completed and the HO are in a position to make a decision on your application.

These types of application can run for months and even years.........You have to be more patient
