Silly "stapler pin holes" in Tier1 Visa query.

Post by LearningCurve » Wed Jun 09, 2010 4:18 pm

Hello friends,

Again, this query is behalf of the same friend.

When he travelled into another country last year where he had submitted 2 copies of his photographs for visa on arrival, they used one and stapled the other one to a page in his passport.

Unfortunately it was the page which had his Tier 1 visa. Now it has two prominent yet, small stapler pin holes on the visa.

Would that be a problem when he enters the UK? Would the immigration officers feel that the visa has been damaged or tampered with ?

He has been trying to call the enquiry numbers provided in the UKBA website, but it's just recorded voice messages, to unending music.

Is there actually a contact authority who can clarify such questions ? Anybody had similar experiences ?

Thanks in advance,
LC.

My collegue's photo on his passport got unglued and we had to go through special screening etc to ascertain that the passport was genuine and we weren't using a fake one. It wasted approximately 3 hours but in the end they understood that all was genuine.

I think in your case, it's not going to matter that the visa page has staple holes in it. They can always confirm by the visa number to check that it's valid or not.

Thanks Pranvayu. Although it was the photo on the passport in your colleague's case, it does give some hope, that 2 small stapler pin holes in the visa shouldn't really be a matter of concern. :)

The visa vignettes are machine readable so you shouldnt have any problem.

Ok he got through and is in the UK now. The officer didn't even bother "the silly stapler pin holes":)

Only questions asked was for reason in delay, for which he gave his reasons and he got through.

Thanks guys once again.
