You can start looking for same day appointment slots online prior to the 16th Sept, but make sure you book your actual appointment between 16th Sept & 14th Oct, as it's difficult to get slots if you leave it too late, that's speaking from experience!!!mteja wrote:Thanks for your reply.
As from the 16th Sept is that when i should ring to book an appointment?

CONGRATS.nnkhan99 wrote:Hiya - My husband and I had a successful visit to PEO Croydon and got his ILR under SET (M).
We arrived at 8AM and our appointment was at 9AM. The guy at the door said you are too early but since our little baby was with us he let us through. Then the security guard called us and we went through the metal detectors. My husband then waited in line to get his papers checked while I was asked to sit down as I was pushing the stroller. Luckily when his turn came, our baby was asleep so I went to the window with my husband. She asked to see documents from 2008. She told us that the payment page had to be filled out. So we filled that.
Then we were escorted to the first floor where we made the payment. We were given a token for 1st floor and after waiting for an hour we were told that there had been a mistake and our number was being called on the 2nd floor. Anyhow, they told us to wait of first floor and called us soon.
At first the lady thought that there was an issue with my husband's passport so she went to get it checked out. After 20 minutes she returned and said all was OK. Then she asked us to make three piles with documents from 2008, 2009 and 2010. She checked all the documents in turn.
At the end she asked to see our baby's birth certificate (luckily at the last minute I had grabbed it) She made photocopies and said that : Your ILR has been granted. Please collect your passport in an hour and a half.
We decided to stay in the building and wait as we were being escirted everywhere as we had to use the elevator and I couldnt go through security again.
The passport was ready in an hour. The people were very serious but helpful. But there were hardly any people who smiled.
thank you to all of you who helped me get through this application with your advice. I will be returning when we gear up to apply for citizenship
Ta for now.
