Finally got our extension of discretionary leave

Post by sco_kop » Wed Jun 30, 2010 1:47 pm

Here is how story goes.
Applied in feb 2010 4 wks before dl expired on hpdl forms. As advised by HO.
No letter of acknowledgement or nothing.
8 weeks later they write to us saying we used wrong forms.
We reapply imediately and send out applications o. Flr o forms.
Money taken out from our banks next dAy and letter of acknowledgement received few days later.

6 weeks later HO want to see proof of marriage and send relevant documents. 4 weeks later we get extension of dl for kids and myself

before dl expires letter quotes we can apply for indefinite or settlement.

Going to apply for settlement in 3 years.

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I was excited to read your success story about your dlr extension. I just want to known whether you used a lawyer or not and how did you do it. I want to apply for my extension by the end of this year and I'm thinking whether to use a lawyer or not. Thank you for your reply and advice.
