What is the earliest you can apply for Tier 1 extension

Post by autocrazy » Fri Jul 02, 2010 11:52 am

Hi

I have a problem at hand. My current 3 year Tier 1 visa is valid until October 2011. However I intend to buy a house and the bank insists that I have atleast a 2 year valid visa to live in UK for them to approve my home finance application.

I would appreciate if you someone can guide me if I could apply now (1 year & 4 months in advance?) If, I can how long will this new visa be valid?

One can only imagine how difficult it will be to get a mortgage if caps on extensions are introduced... It will be very difficult to find a job (who wants to employ a person with very uncertain prospects for extension?), let alone get mortgage.

Why we are only looking at the possibility of getting jobs? Tier 1 holders can be self employed as well as can start a business. Why not explore that side also..

Hi guys

I have visited some other forums and there are a few people who have applied over a year in advance and have succeeded in getting an extension.

Is anyone around on this forum who has experience or know someone who has successfully got an extension by applying this early for an extension?

In my profession, this is not an option.
