Visa Queries - Please Help !!!

Post by rawpan » Thu Jul 08, 2010 3:00 pm

Hi All,

I have following queries with regard to my Tier 1 General Visa :-

1.)My Tier 1 General Visa is valid from July 2008 till July 2011.
Due to recession, job market shrunk & I could not fly to UK till now on this Visa. I am getting a job opportunity in UK now. Could you please let me know whether it is fine to enter UK now using this Visa? It is valid for another 1 year.

2.)This Visa is stamped on my previous passport which has expired last year in May, 2009. I have got a new passport now. Could you please confirm whether I need to get this Visa transferred to my new passport OR Is it sufficient if I carry over my old passport with me ?

Thanks a lot.

Regards,
rawpan

1. You can enter UK with your valid Tier 1 EC. But do think about whether you'll meet the requirements for extension next year.

2. Carry your old passport (with EC vignette) along with your current passport when(ever) you travel from / to UK.

Thanks once again !!
The conditions mentioned here don't specify any minimum duration of stay in 3 years of the Visa. Although it doesn't say anything explicitly, do there exist any "unsaid rules" that one must spend a minimum duration in UK within first 3 years so that the Extension application is not rejected ??

Any similar cases, please share the details !!
Thanks a lot..

No.

If you score enough points for extension, your application cannot be refused.
