fiance visa questions

Post by jdd326 » Fri Jul 09, 2010 4:06 am

Hiya! I have a strange question. I applied with my boyfriend for an unmarried partner visa back in 2009 when we both lived in the UK (he is a national and I am from the US). We were refused. I came home and we continued our relationship. now we are engaged and applying for a fiancee visa. Will our past refusal count against us? Will they compare and contrast the two applications and look for discrepancies? I ask this because our dates for when we met, started dating, etc are not exact. And we can't remember what we wrote in the first application! So we just estimated the same as last time. I am worried about getting rejected again even though we have so much documentation of our relationship. It is a lengthy and expensive process! And I just want to be with my partner....
Thanks for any advice in advance! xxx

Hi

I don't think the previous of refusal will go against you, if anything it will prove that the relationship existed at that time - which is important for a fiance visa. What were the reasons for refusal last time?

Just start the application for the fiance visa and be as honest as possible. If you show proof of funds, accommodation, relationship evidence, etc I'm sure you have as good chance.

good luck

It's important to know what the reason for the refusal was.
