Tier 1 General - earning period and salary calculation

Post by amrhady » Fri Jul 16, 2010 1:00 pm

Hi,

applying for tier 1 (salaried employee) and earning period I'm claiming for is from 20 April 2009 to 1 March 2010 (less than 12 month). Assuming my gross salary is 1000 per month, can I claim for points for total gross salary amounts from April 2009 to February 2010, which is full 11 gross month salary? (Which will be 1000*11= 11000)

Thanks a lot.

Why will you want to claim for 11 months when clearly the policy guideline states that you need to show proof of earnings for 12 months. Claiming for 11 months is planning to fail.

and yes, assuming your gross is 1000 per month, you can claim for 1000 * 12 = 12000.

One can claim any number of months(less than or equal to 12 months and within last 15 months, should be among 12 consecutive months), if that satisfies previous earnings requirement.

Thanks for the correction gotcha and apologies for the oversight amrhady. It slipped my mind, that you can claim for less than 12 months as long as you meet the eligibility criterion.

Quote from policy guidelines,
105. An applicant may claim for a period of earnings of less than 12 months if they have earned sufficient funds to claim the necessary points.
