Maintenance Funds Clarity Needed

Post by breeza » Mon Jul 19, 2010 10:44 am

Hie all,
I plan to apply in a month's time This is my situation and question:
I have been maintaining my funds as follows:
01 May 2010 - 31 May 2010 - GBP 2900
01 June 2010 - 30 June 2010 - GBP 3500
01 July 2010 - Date - GBP 3500
I have maintained these funds out of UK (forex rate varies daily) and the funds have been consistently above GBP2900.

1. Can I apply with the balances as shown above or should I wait another month so that I can show the same balance (GBP3500) for the 90 days prior to applying?

2. Does the case officer look at the current bank balance at the time of applying (in my case GBP3500) and expect to see that balance through out the previous 3 months (90days)?

3. Is it ok for the balance to vary as long as it remains above GBP2800 for the 90 days prior to applying?

Thanks in advance, Your input will be greatly appreciated........

It depends on the case officer. If the reviewer is satisfied with the evidence that you have provided, then he will not go for a verification. Else he will go for it.

Consider the 2800 on daily basis and not on a average for the whole 90 days. Technically, ATLEAST 2800 should be in account for each day between the 90 days.

It is absolutely ok for the balance to vary according to the exchange rate as long as the GBP amount of 2800 is maintained for the 90 days period prior to applying.

I assume that you know that the closing balance for each day between that 90 day period should be atleast 2800. Personally, I will also make sure that On an average (in daily basis), i maintain another 200 GBP as a contingency for the entire 90 days period.

Thanks, I get it. As long as I keep the balance well above the GBP2800 daily for the 90days I should be fine?

Perfect... (Considering the pounds + / - fluctuation in the international currency market).
