ILR and BC

Post by obbieobbie » Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:53 pm

Hi,

I've few questions, first let me give you few details about me and my family.
We've start living in the UK from July. 2005.
ILR has been granted on 15.July.2010 to myself, my wife and our kids. My kids are born in the UK while I was on 'work permite' visa

1. Can I now register my kids as British Citizens or I need to wait 12 months?
2. When 'Path to Citizenship' will take a place and how this rules will affect my BC application (07/2011) ?

Thank you very much for the answer

1/ YES you can apply to register your kids

2/ As you have ILR you will not be affected by the 'new citizenship', as long as you apply within 2 years of the new law coming into effect. The last I had was that they were going to implement it in July 2011 meaning you will have until July 2013 to apply.
