Timing of previous earnings for Tier 1 (urgent)

Post by IwantTier1 » Fri Jul 23, 2010 7:31 am

With the new requirement of 80 points my girlfriend is now very much on the borderline for a Tier 1 visa. The key difference could be how the HO recognizes timing of earnings.

She worked at a job as an outside contractor through 25 June but didn't receive June payment until 22 July. Does anyone know if this can still be recognized as June salary?

The ability to count her salary as July 2009-June 2010 versus August 2009-July 2010 could very well determine whether she qualifies or not for the visa because her salary at end was much higher than at beginning.

Please help!

If the salary for June has been paid in July and the other documents like payslips, bankstatement credits etc corroborate then it should not be a proble.m.just highlight the credit for june in the bank statement and mention that the salary for june was credited in the account in july in cover letter..To be 100% sure & covered you can get a letter from the employee on their letterhead stating that the salary was paid in July... good luck!!

Thanks Aspirant. To be clear though, the bank statement shows a credit in July and we don't have any documentary evidence that it is for June. Would a letter from her client (since she is contractor) or some sort of invoice from them be enough evidence to prove the salary is for June?

If she has to count the salary as July, then she loses a month from the front end and won't have enough salary to qualify.
