Dependent Maintenance Fund Confusion

Want a clarification from mates who had the experience about dependent maintenance fund.

If the Dependent is applying separately, does he need to show maintenance for himself alone, i.e. £533 or he need to show £533 + £800 even if the main applicant is not applying with him?

I applied for my dependant and only showed £533 and got the Visa. Having said that I think sushdmehta is right, to be on a safe side if you can afford to show your £800+£533 for each dependant its good, if not then just show normal amount.
