A Query on Bank Account

Hi Guys,

Am on Tier 1 and arrived in the UK on June and started working from 28th June. Got my account opened with Barclays on 28th July, and got my salary credited into it of £6000. Now I need to buy a contract phone, do i need to wait for three months or more before I can buy my phone, as my account is just opened on 28th of july, or i can just walk into the store and buy the phone as i have enough money in my account.

Do i need to built a credit history for buying anything..

Pls advice gurus...
