Dear friends,
I, Japanese, have just engaged with a greek lady, and we are planning to enter civil partnership in UK.
I have a question regarding Documents I need for applying COA to get married in UK.
I understand that we need the following documents..
- my Passport
- my fiancé's passport or greek ID card
However I don't really understand this one.
- evidence that I am/She is free to get married
I can get a so-called 'single certificate' or 'certificate of no impediment' from Japanese embassy, but my fiance is having difficulty finding out how to get her evidence, since greek embassy has been telling her different info everytime she asks. (even she might have to go to Athens to get it...)
My questions is;
- Do we absolutely have to hand in this 'single certificate'? or is there any way?
- If there are any experienced greek person on this forum, how did you get your certificate?
- Do I need to hand in any other documents?
I would appreciate if you can answer those questions.
Thank youu!!!!
