ILR Success Crpydon PEO 21/8/2010 Work Permit

Post by 1273 » Sat Aug 21, 2010 7:33 pm

Got ILR for myself and 2 dependants today at Croydon PEO today. Work Permit

1. I made a 9:00am appointment. Got there at 8:30am.
2. Went through the security checks.
3. Papers were checked, found out they changed the application form in July 2010, I had the one used from April 2010. The Officer was generous and accepted it.
4. Checked paper all was well. Was given a ticket and sent upstairs to pay.
5. Few people- payment was done quickly. Sent upstairs for interview.
6. After 5 minutes my number was called. The caseworker asked for application form, passports, payment receipt, 3 pay slips, 3 bank statements, employer letter, P60 for 5 years (I had 4), Life in UK Test, and work permits x 2.
7. The caseworker asked for P60 that was missing for my first job for 05/06. I told him I didn't get one. He then asked for a P45. I told him I didn't bring it. He said ok.
8. The caseworker said he had to do some checks and he would get back to me in about 20 mins.
9. I started to get worried. I was convicted of (LC20) Driving Contrary to Licence, fine £150 and 3 points. I did mention it on my application.
10. I waited for 40mins and he didn't return, I started sweating...
11. The caseworker came back after 50mins and apologised. He said the system is slow and he cant get the searches done as quickly as he wanted to. He asked me to wait while he process another applicant.
12. After 40mins the caseworker called my number and congratulated me.
He said the searches were done and all was good. I thanked him and went downstairs to collect my ILR.

No mention was made of my traffic conviction.

Thanks for those who supported assured me I would be fine weeks ago when I wrote my post.
