can self Employed accepts cash payments

Post by angelloveguy » Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:17 pm

Hello,

I am currently working as a self employed and I have register my self as self emplyed to HM Revenue. My question is I am going to apply for Tier 1 from PSW. Can I claim these cash payments as my income while I have all the invoices of these payments with me but payments were received as cash and then I submitted them into my business account.

thanks

angelloveguy, self-employment comes in all types, and you don't tell us what you are doing. In many types of business, such as running a retail shop, it will of course be very common for cash to be taken.
