Degree certificate in English

Post by expertbuddy » Thu Sep 02, 2010 5:49 pm

Planning for Tier 1 soon. Need some clarifications on the below points

1. Have my bachelor degree certificate in tamil ( do this needs to get approved by NARC or any thirdparty body. I got Bachelors in computer technology from Mahendra engg college salem tamilnadu. Degree certificate was issued from periyar university, salem. The university was listed on points calculator.
2. Do I need to take up english language test? The degree was taught in english, but i am wondering how they would approve my points

Thanks in advance for your suggesitions

1. If your degree is listed on the PB calculator (please note it is not just the university but everything like subject, duration etc), then your degree certificate will suffice. Although it will need to be translated to English by an authorised translator.
2. If your degree is acceptable for English language points, the PB calculator will award you 10 points when you select the degree. If it does not you will have to take the English language test.

Although I wonder why, if the degree was taught in English, the certificate is in Tamil?!
