I am in UK with Dependant visa. Can i apply Tier 1 (General)

Post by chetna_grover » Thu Sep 09, 2010 7:10 pm

Hi,

I am in UK on Dependant visa (My husband is in UK on a work permit) and would like to know if I am eligible to apply for Tier 1 (general) from within the UK. According to point base calcualtor I have enough points to apply, I have enough maintenance funds but available in an Indain account. I was working in India till July 2010, so can show Indain salary for 12 months.
Is it possible to apply from within the UK showing Indian funds and Indian salary?

Regards,
Chetna

You cannot change from a dependant visa to T1 (G) within country, you will have to go back to India and apply from there.

No, you'd need to apply from your home country when switching to Tier-1 general

Note that if you change to Tier 1, then your ILR clock will be reset and you cannot apply for ILR with your husband.
