5 year leave to enter and remain, question

Post by Premo » Fri Sep 10, 2010 9:48 pm

Hi,

My wife got her 5 years leave to enter and remain UK on a4 paper based on our marriage (i am french). Her passport is still with HO and was not sent back to her probably because it is now expired. We want to go to france for a week to visit my family. Can she travel with her 5 year LR, her marriage certificate and schengen visa together with me?

Thanks

Premo

She will need a passport to enter France.
She can't travel without a valid passport.

Premo, UKBA have no right to retain the passport, and your wife should ask for its return.

But she will need to get a new passport before travelling outside the UK.

Hi John,

Does my wife need to call the UKBA number where you can request your passport to be send back in case of urgent travel plans? Or is there another number to call because my wife's application has been decided already. They have to send it because she needs to renew it at the embassy.

Thanks

I am not sure. Maybe phone that UKBA number and ask them?
