Further Info request by UKBA

Post by Zim1 » Tue Sep 21, 2010 10:05 am

Hi Guys!

I sent my PSW application by post on the 4th of September. Yesterday (20/09/10) I received an email from the UKBA requesting a bank statement covering a certain period. The case-worker also makes it clear in the email that I should provide this information within 3 days. Now I requested an urgent statement from the bank and they said it would reach me within 3 days. I'm therefore worried the statement will not reach the case-worker within the required 3 days. Are they rigid as to the time-frames i.e. 3 days or they can be a bit flexible?

Has anyone been in such a situation before?

Please advise.

No harm in emailing the caseworker asking for more time ... politely explaining the difficulty in:
1. arranging original bank statements in 3 working days, and
2. also making sure that the same reach UKBA within those 3 working days.

Then, hope and pray that the caseworker understands your predicament and gives you more time.

Many thanks sushdmehta. I've already emailed the case-worker telling him I've requested the statements and they would take about 3 days to get to me where I'd then use the same day delivery service to deliver them to him.

Do you think this is enough and will not jeopardise my application ?

Kind regards;

Depends on how understanding the caseworker is prepared to be. Entirely up to him / her.

The fact that you have responded to the request seeking more time should help .. as the caseworker is now aware that you are making effort(s) to comply with the request in the best way you can.

Hi sushdmehta

I forgot to ask in my earlier thread. UKBA have asked further info on my statement i.e. the one with the required funds over the 90 day period. The case-worker has however also asked for an additional account statements I may have or my wife's over the 90 day period. I intend to send my wife's but my worry is it is overdrawn by a substantial amount i.e about £1000.
I believe the reason he's asked for this is my main statement has not got much activity but has maintained the required funds over a 90 day period.

Many thanks!

No point in sending statement(s) of account(s) that are overdrawn.

Don't understand why you would send your wife's account statement unless a dependent application has also been submitted.

Yes, my application includes dependents. My account is untainted over the 90 day period i.e. with funds to cover all dependents, but there's very little activity as i didn't want the amount to go below the magic number. I don't know why he wants statements for other accounts e.g. my wife's.

To put it in simple terms I've 3 dependents therefore have kept £2400 in my account for 90 days. He wants additional info on this account of which I've got no problem in submitting. However he's also asked me to provide details of any other account I may hold or my wife's over the same 90 daya period.

Can't comment on what the caseworker is thinking and why he/she has asked you to provide details of any other account(s) that you or your wife may hold.

I am applying for PSW visa and I have the statements from 19/06/2010 to 16/09/2010, covering exactly 90 consecutive days. I do have statements the cover period before this, for example 20/05/2010 to 18/06/2010. but I am afraid that they might consider 20/05/2010 to be the start of maintenance period. Has anyone faced any issues if they have shown exactly 90 days statement?

Your 90 day statements are adequate and you should not worry at all.
