In addition to Tier 1, do I require Visitor (business) visa?

I have a valid Tier 1 UK visa and I am yet to travel to UK.
My employer wants me travel to UK for 1-2 day business visit.

My question is -

1. Do I need a separate 'Visitor (Business) visa' for a 2 day business visit ?
2. If yes, could you please confirm that the 'Visitor (Business) visa' would not make 'Tier 1 (General)' visa invalid?

So your Tier 1 visa did not start yet, right?
Then yes, you do need a separate visa for any travel to UK before that.

I have a valid Tier 1 UK visa with start date of 2nd September 2010 and end date of 1st September 2012. However, I have not yet travelled to UK.

Could you you please explain '.....your Tier 1 visa did not start yet'.

Do I still need visitor visa for business visit?

You should be able to travel to UK on t1.. but i am not 100% sure on the questions you may be asked on the port of entry.

Just wait for some senior members to reply...

As far as i know another visa (business) can override your T1 status.. (Please correct if i am wrong as this used to be the case few years back)

It wasn't clear from your first message whether your visa already started or not.

Just travel to UK, no need for separate visa. If asked at the border - answer that you are going for the job interviews and job search.

Thanks for quick responses to wunder and nksg.

Does any of our forums veterans know of cases, where applying for visitor visa would make Tier 1 visa invalid? Are there any rules which can be found on UKBA website regarding this?

I will travel on Tier 1 and would not risk it of getting invalidated. But was just curious to understand if there exists any such rule of new visa makes earlier visa invalid.
