Visa rejection due to incorrect bank statements

Post by harendra » Tue Sep 21, 2010 8:31 pm

hi,

I submitted my tier1 visa application , but it got rejected due to incorrect proofs for maintenance funds. I did meet all the points but my original HSBC bank statements were not enough as the date on which the visa application was filed was more than 15 days.

Hence I did submit a printout of the ICICI bank statement signed, verifed and stamped. The reason for refusal was that the documents for maintenance funds was not on proper bank stationery. The same documents were accepted for my preious visa which was successfully stamped. I dont know how long shall I wait for the admin review to complete

Hi,

Can you please be specific as to what documents did you submit for maintenance proof?

Please provide complete information if you seek answers.

You should tell us:

1. Data of statements i.e. From Date and End date

2. Date of application

3. Highlight if you have used more than 2 accounts to claim the maintenance funds.
Thanks,
Sumit.

Seems that your application was rejected due to missing bank logo on the statement/document. Is it the case that you provided the docs with stamp and sign but no logo? The following posts might be useful in that case.

ICICI bank statements (printout signed and stamped copy from ICICI branch) 5 months statements dated 01-Feb-2010 to 14-July-2010 (these were provided for maintenance funds)

HSBC original bank statements 01-Aug-2009 to 01-Jul-2010 (these were also provided for maintenance funds and also for salary drawn proof)

Application was made on 17-Jul-2010.

For me they did consider the HSBC bank statements as valid proofs, however they did not consider the ICICI bank statements as valid proofs. However the website states that they accept these as proofs.

1. Application date is 17th July 2010.
2. HSBC original bank statements: 01-Aug-2009 to 01-Jul-2010
3. ICICI Bank statements: 01-Feb-2010 to 14-July-2010

Assuming that you file for a review, your ICICI statement is dated till 14th July while HSBC is dated till 1st July.

Scenario A:
Assuming you claim your 90 day period as 14th April till 14th July 2010.
You would need to prove GBP 2800 or lets say 210000 INR in your account as follows:

1. 1st July 2010 till 14th July 2010: INR 210000 or more in ICICI bank account

2. 14th April 2010 till 30th June 2010: INR 210000 or more in ICICI & HSBC combined.

Scenario B:
If you find that by considering last date of the 90 day period as 1st July 2010 is favourable to you comapred to Scenario A, , then you need to show INR 210000 or more in combined ICICI & HSBC from 1st April 2010.

Scenario A v/s Scenario B is using the conidtion in the guideline:

214. Where evidence from two or more accounts are submitted, we will assess the funds available to the applicant using:
• the most recent closing balance of one account, plus
• any additional money available to the applicant on the date of that closing balance, for which the applicant has provided the required evidence.
We will always use the closing balance date from the account that most favours the applicant.

Mods or other experts feel if anything is wrong here, please comment.
Thanks,
Sumit.
